Bad Grade = No Future {W-R-O-N-G}

We’re all having a tough time at school  and if you’re not then good for you! And this  probably isn’t for you.

There are way too many people out there, standing to de-motivate you but you need to keep yourself motivated. Teachers, mentors, parents (Basically most of the adults in your life) are always going to taunt you or nag you to perform better and try harder. They are merely showing concern but their words sometimes lead to de-motivation, anxiety and in some cases depression. Stop taking the words to your heart!! You need to stop making yourself feel bad. You are not stupid or worthless or incapable of doing something in life. Trust me (Actually don’t. I’m just a 17-year-old trying to motivate myself and the rest of you out there.) life isn’t that small and you’ve got a lot of time to figure things out but first, R-E-L-A-X.  Breathe. Chill. Not everything is supposed to be figured out by now.

And the people who keep saying that we’re old enough to know what we want in life are just rushing with their own. Your marks do not define you. One failure doesn’t mean you have no successful future. One bad grade doesn’t stop you from applying for the college you want to go to. Nothing stops you from doing what you want but you. So stop that. Stop holding yourself back, do what you want to. Don’t ever let a bad grade or mark stop you from achieving the success you can.

If Bill Gates would’ve given up, we wouldn’t have Microsoft.

If Walt Disney didn’t keep plugging along, we wouldn’t have Disney.

And that would be DREADFUL. I mean  just imagine- A childhood without all those great stories. Life would be incomplete without Disney and nobody (unless you are emotion-less) can disagree to this.

If Oprah didn’t work towards what she wanted, she wouldn’t be what she is now.

Enduring a rough and abusive childhood as well as numerous career setbacks including being fired from her job as a television reporter because she was “unfit for tv”  didn’t stop her.

Einstein was kicked out of school for being a slow learner.

Everyone thought he was weak and mentally handicapped but was he now?

Issac Newton never performed well in school and was put to work on the family farm.

But then he failed miserably there and was sent off to Cambridge. Now we all know what happened next.

Thomas Edison was told by his teachers that he was “Too stupid to learn anything.”

He failed at work too but then 1,000 failed attempts lead to a successful one.

There are so many examples I could state but you get the point, don’t you?

MISERABLE

Walked in and placed my bag,

Thinking about the reaction I’d receive for scoring so low.

“You’re a loser.” Screamed a voice in my head.

“No, I’m not.” I firmly replied.

The voice kept coming again repeatedly,

Saying that I needed to be punished exceedingly.

I ignored the voice knowing that I won’t fall,

Believing that my self-esteem stood tall.

Everything was fine,

Until they came.

Screaming and shouting,

Yelling my name.

I stood still listening to them,

Every mean thing they said and all what they probably never meant.

The taunts kept coming,

So did the voice.

They said I was worthless,

A waste of time.

If I was in my senses ,

I wouldn’t believe that lie.

But I wasn’t so I took it to my heart,

I gave it the power to destroy me and it did.

I ran back to my room and took out the blade,

Punishing myself for the mistakes I never made.

Miserable and broken internally,

But nobody would believe that.

‘Cause in a world like this,

Ignorance is bliss.
